I very much enjoyed this. My parents had a bungalow on B 28th street and I spent every summer there until 1977. Was a wonderful experience!

Growing up in Far Rockaway in the 1960s, I remember lots of decaying mansions. As a kid I took them for granted and never paid much attention or photographed them. During the 1970s they all started to be torn down, usually for nursing homes or ugly apartments. I regret that I didn’t catalog them or take a picture. I remember some of the locations. I wonder what the history of those places was and who built them.
