I was born on the Upper West Side of New York City in 1952. Its soon time to go home. The Joy of the Thanksgiving Parade and the city I love, don’t miss the Parade at the end . I hope you enjoy my new little film.
To the few who feel I go to fast.
This is a little moving picture. This is why I move the photographs at the speed I do. If you want to study a photograph Stop the film .This is a moment in time meant for you to relax and go for the ride. You see what you see and you feel what you feel. Its a little movie trying to take you somewhere else. Relax and let me take you somewhere else. To really get anywhere one must let go.
To the many of you who have asked me for a photograph that I might have of Laura’s, here are the ones that she shared with me so I could make my little film for her and Paul. I hope you all enjoy her work. May each of you who knew her and loved her and for the many who are just finding her work now, send a prayer to her and Paul. “May Their Memory Be a Blessing.”
The Photography Of Laura Deckelman From the Rockaways to The Bungalows, to Coney Island and all her Wonderful photographs of Seagulls and Seals and the beautiful sea on the Rockaway Ferry. I made for Laura and Paul in 2014. Laura and Paul had been taking photographs of streets in Edgemere. We had been talking after their walk around where my grandfathers house was on Beach 38th street. She took photographs where the house had been. She sent me photographs that she liked and I picked out ones that I liked and I began one of my first little films. Laura shared the photos with me that she enjoyed. There is also a blog post from that time in 2014 that I have shared. Many of her photographs are there. They are together. It was done in 2014 for Laura. May god bless their memory. To the few who feel I go too fast, this is a little moving picture. This is why I move the photographs at the speed I do. If you want to study a photograph, stop the film. This is a moment in time meant for you to relax and go for the ride. You see what you see and you feel what you feel. Remember you can see all YouTube videos on your TV which makes them so much larger to be able to see.
Fine Art Photographer Shari Diamond put out a call to contribute to an online magazine “Quarantine Zine”. My husband, artist Andrew Reach, contributed the piece “Six Feet of Separation (in the time of Covid-19). Inside are works in many media, including poetry and writing.
